Welcome

I provide a safe and trusting environment with respect, empathy, non-judgment and confidentially.

I believe that each person is unique and has the potential to achieve positive outcomes through a deeper understanding and awareness of themselves and their environment.

Why Seek Counselling?

People can seek counselling for numerous reasons, especially when they feel overwhelmed, depressed, anxious and challenged or unable to resolve an issue. Life events, grief and loss, passed traumas, relationship problems, relocation adjustments, anxiety, life stresses, crisis, loneliness, mood swings and depression can place one in a position of feeling overwhelmed, confused, angry, frustrated, grieved and powerless to cope.

What is Counselling?

Counselling creates a confidential and safe zone to ‘talk it out,’ to unravel, challenge and review your world to develop a deeper understanding and connection with oneself. Counselling assists in developing self-awareness and insight to facilitate better life choices and outcomes. This can assist individuals or couples challenged within their relationship.

Through the therapeutic relationship of trust and working together we can explore your world, values, beliefs and perspectives to address any anxieties, losses, grief, traumas, relationship issues or self-limiting and negative beliefs and behaviours that may be affecting your ability to cope in life and build resilience, success and autonomy that supports healthy coping skills and quality of life.

My name is Alison Kirk, and I am a university-qualified clinical Counsellor. I abide by the SA Government Code of Conduct for Health Practitioners and am a clinical member of the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA).
